Day 7: Time

Much like Death the idea of Time is a mystery that is often unanswered. Time is an idea created by people so they can put events in consecutive order…..(talk about OCD). My original idea of time was this:

Time is a word used to describe a cycle of life. Numbers are used to describe the rate of time. Humans use it, spend it, waste it, buy it, consume it, lose it, and watch it. It is a term often misunderstood for it’s own complexity. No human has long on this planet. Years may be a large period of “time” to humans, but in reality, it is very short.

Ironically it takes time to understand time. After participating in said Time for so long a person begins to understand which questions have answers and which ones do not. That is why wisdom is typically associated with age. The way I see it , it is the people who spend their time wisely that take the cake for wisdom.I mentioned above several different way we use time but I can’t honestly say I know any one who doesn’t worry about time. Rather than being grateful for the time one has left, they worry about how much more time they can get.  As it is with Life, the idea of Time is short. Now is the “time” to make something of it. Worry not about menial things that you have no control over.

The idea of time is established so deep that it will continue to tick with our without your worries. The movie Kung Fu Panda really spoke for Time when it dropped Master Oogway’s line, “Quit, don’t quit? Noodles, don’t noodles? You are too concerned about what was and what will be. There is a saying: yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the “present.”” The idea of time being split into three ideas Past, Present and Future allows people to be “too concerned with what was and what will be” as Master Oogway said. The past is done. Sure it is how we got to today and today is how we will get to tomorrow but the quest for the day has yet to be completed. Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Do not throw away such a gift. Time is valuable. It helps define lives. I hope that the Time I have here is spent in the best ways possible.

Make Time for yourself and those you care about. It is the memories you make in the Present that pave the way for your Future and write the chapters of your Past.
